GUESTS:  Kim Arthur and Sharon Stauffacher representing Liturgy, and Chuck Keister

The meeting was opened by Chairperson Steve Gregoire.  There was one correction to the February minutes.  Doris Cadd noted her report on the status of “Church 101” on Strategy #2 should have read “In Place” instead of as reported that Howard needs more information to attain the goal of having “Church 101” on the website.  The minutes were approved after a motion by Doris Cadd, seconded by Roger Holyfield.  The March agenda was also approved.

AGENDA:

1)      Roger Holyfield reported on the upcoming Parish Work Day March 23rd to complete small projects inside the sanctuary, narthex, social hall, and bathrooms in need of repairs.

2)      Kim Arthur and Sharon Stauffacher were present to give their ideas on an All Parish Mass.  Kim said in their discussions with Tyler about an All Parish Mass, they felt a Saturday evening Mass around 7:30 or 8:00 p.m. the first or second week of June held on the church parking lot would be their suggestion.  Due to the cost of renting sound and lighting equipment and chairs, to make it an exciting experience that would be a tradition every year, a lot of planning and expense should be expected.  It was mentioned that parking could pose more of a problem on Saturday evening also.  After much discussion on the timing and expense, she suggested waiting until fall or next year so it could be submitted to the Administration Committee for including it in the budget for next year.

3)      A report on progress of Project 2010 Strategy #3: Create the Optimal Spiritual Atmosphere was given by Chris Venditti.  She will ask Lisa Sobba to give a report on Stewardship at the next council meeting.  Jim and Joanna Mooney are the points of contact for Goal A, Action #3: Increasing the number of parishioners who share their time and talent through volunteering.  Roger Holyfield is the point of contact for Goal B, Action #2: Deep cleaning of Church every Advent and Lent through volunteer effort.  Other maintenance actions are in place.  Goal C, Action #1 & 2 date was changed from 2002 to 2004 for conducting a feasibility study on space utilization and expansion for worship and establishing a preschool and daycare.
