OLD
BUSINESS:
1.
Project 2010 kickoff
party held March 26 at Clayview Country Club was well attended by a very active
group of parishioners who generated over 1,000 ideas on what parish goals
should be the next 10 years. Council members were well pleased with the
outcome, and grateful to Henry Parente for all of his efforts for a successful
kickoff. Summaries of ideas from the
kickoff were distributed, and some of the ideas were discussed. Several council members were amazed how many
topics addressed opportunities already available in our parish. Father Ron indicated apparently there is a
lack of communication if parishioners aren’t aware these opportunities are
already in place. The CORE group has not been appointed yet, however several
possible candidates for the group were mentioned. Council members volunteering to be on the CORE team are Tim Laird
and Kim Parente. The CORE group will go
over the ideas and categorize them into quick issues and long-range goals. As a result of one of the ideas of the 2010
kickoff party, Mass overcrowding was discussed. It was decided to add a Sunday evening Mass at 6:00 p.m. for a
trial period of 90 days to see if it would alleviate the overflow of 9:15 and
11:00 a.m. Masses. Council members want
to add the Mass as soon as the Liturgy Committee can make arrangements for
priests and liturgists.
2.
