The HOPE Gift Card Ministry provides an additional source of funding for St. James Catholic Parish to use in support of its education programs and to meet other needs as defined by the pastor.
The parish purchases gift cards (called SCRIP by many parishes that sell them) at a discount and sells them at face value. Most of the cards are national cards and can be used anywhere in the United States. Some cards are provided by local merchants and are honored at their stores in the area.
The profit realized by the parish comes from the businesses that provide the cards. Parishioners and friends of St. James pay face value for the cards they buy and get to spend the full face value for items they would otherwise buy with cash, check or credit cards.
Gift cards are sold in the parish and school offices during normal business hours and in the church narthex or social hall after weekend Masses. Many of the most popular cards are kept in stock and may be purchased at these locations. These and dozens of other cards are available and can be ordered by submitting an order form. These order forms are available at all sales locations and can be downloaded from the St. James website (See link below). Gift cards may also be purchased on the ShopwithScrip.com website. See Buying HOPE Gift Cards for more information.
We hope you will develop the HOPE HABIT and help support St. James Catholic Parish through the HOPE Gift Card Ministry. If you have any questions or want additional information, please contact us at 781-4343 x200 or at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
