First Communion & First Reconciliation –
In our diocese, in order to receive the sacraments of first reconciliation or communion a child must meet the following criteria:
*Must be at least 7 years old
*Must be in at least the 2nd grade
*Must have had a least one year prior religious instruction and formation, whether in a Catholic school or a parish school of religion or in a qualified program of home study.
The child’s preparation for reception of this sacrament is done in the home. Parents participate in one preparation meeting. The children celebrate the sacrament with their families during the Easter season. Please check the bulletin for times and dates.
