Faith Sharing for the 6th-8th grades will be held on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8 pm beginning on Wednesday, September 21st. All grades will gather in the gym from 6:30-7:00 pm for social time, introductions, announcements and opening prayer. Parents are invited to stay during this short period to chat, get acquainted and pray with us, as well as, catch the announcements first hand! We will break into small groups after prayer.
Upcoming Events
All 6th-8th grade teens from the Northland are invited to join us for a “Day of Service.” Feb 18th from 9am-6pm (5pm Mass)
We will meet at St James in the Social Hall to
prepare for the day. After packing our lunches, we will split into
several groups and head out to one of the service sites. We will return
to St James around 3:30 pm to share about our service experience with
the other groups. Please wear work clothes and work tennis shoes.
Service site will vary so just come prepared to work. Adult Drivers
needed to help for the day.
The cost is $5 per person to pay for lunch and snacks We will attend 5
pm Mass together as a group however your families are welcome to join us
for Mass.

CAFE Open Youth Night
On the 2nd Wednesdays of the month we have CAFE,
Catholic Adolescent Faith Exploration. On CAFE nights the Youth Room is open for
everyone 6th-8th grade. Bring friends, bring music to share and bring an
open heart. 6:30-8:00PM
Note-March 14th CAFE will be attending the Parish Supper.
Attendance
Though not mandatory, Faith Sharing, allows you to converse with your peers on subjects important to your faith journey.
Parent Sign Up
Each parent is asked to attend one small group meeting on the date of their choice. This is your opportunity to share in your teen's faith and the journey he or she is undertaking. Also, PLEASE consider becoming a small group leader! Effective faith sharing thrives in a small, comfortable atmosphere. With fewer catechists, your child's group becomes less personal, less manageable and less effective for spiritual growth!
Parent Volunteers
Our program is successful solely because of the time, talent and effort of all of our wonderful volunteers. Please check the registration form for all the different areas you could be of service. Extra hands are always welcomed and appreciated! There are opportunities for every commitment level. If you have already turned in your registration form but would like volunteer just send an email to the youth office.
Inclement Weather Policy
As a rule, we will use the Liberty Public Schools as our guide - if classes were cancelled for the day, we too will cancel for the evening. We will also post a message on the Home Page of the website. You can sign up for text alerts as well or call the Youth office 781-4343 ext 208

Lenten Soup Supper and Vespers
Wednesday's during Lent our parish meets for a simple meal and either a brief talk or a short video. We get together for a prayer service in the church at 5:40, followed by a simple meal of soup and some hearty bread followed by the speaker or video. Each supper is sponsored by several grades of children from Youth group, RE and school families. These families volunteer to bring a crockpot of soup or loaf of bread and the students in those grades are the host and servers. This year they will also help with the prayer service. 2012 March 14th will be our turn to host. Please arrive by 5:30 to prepare.
