Parish Handbell Choir
The bell choir at St James is a hidden treasure! The handbell choir is a group of people that come together to play one instrument that consists of 37 different bells. Practice is on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00pm. The handbell choir plays at various masses and feast days throughout the liturgical year.
Rose Steinmetz has assumed the role of handbell director. Originally from the Kansas City area, she lived in Topeka Kansas for 18 years and played in the handbell choir at Christ The King Catholic Church. She was transferred to Texas and for the last 17 years, Rose was the handbell director for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Keller, Texas and Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Colleyville, Texas. Rose member of the Handbell Association of America and has attended numerous leadership workshops. She is happy to be back home and share her passion of handbells with the St James family.
